Our staff

Meet Bill Torrey and our Running Specialists: Annette, Bill Bulloch, Harold, Jim, and Michelle. All are active runners who understand the needs and wants of both walkers and runners.

Annette.

Annette Blanton has been running for nearly a decade. In 2015 she reached her goal of 100 marathons/ultra marathons. She's traveled the country running, and is a Marathon Maniac and 50 States Running Club member. Annette has been involved with Women Run Arkansas for more than five years. She is president of Cabot Country Cruisers Running Club. Annette is a founding member of the Rock City Running family. She enjoys sharing her passion for running and helping others reach their goals. Annette completed training at the Newton Running Lab in Colorado. She is also a certified RRCA coach. If you have questions about shoes, apparel, hydration or running ask for Annette.

Bill.

Bill Bulloch's list of credentials includes running since 1996 and racing at a variety of distances. His favorite marathon is Chicago. He's run more than 20 marathons, including four Pikes Peak Marathons. Right now his focus is on local races and half marathons. This former race director loves first-time runners, offering nuggets of information from his own experiences. He's been fitting runners for more than a decade. Bill explains running isn't about winning but being healthy and staying active. He wants to make your running experience an enjoyable one. Bill is a founding member of the Rock City Running family. He has completed training at the Newton Running Lab in Colorado.

Harold.

Harold Hays has been running for 25+ years, starting with races from 5K to marathons the first few years of his running life and then eventually getting into ultra distance events. Harold has run the Boston Marathon, Pikes Peak Marathon, and Big Sur Marathon to name a few, plus the Arkansas Traveler 100 and several other ultra races. He considers crossing the Grand Canyon to be his best running-related adventure. Harold has paced several runners at the Arkansas Traveler and enjoys working as a volunteer at races. Whether it's helping you find a new pair of running shoes or new apparel or answering your questions, he is happy to help you get started on the right foot. A favorite quote that can apply to your running is from Plato — “Self conquest is the greatest of victories.”

Jim.

Jim Sweatt has been running for more than 37 years – beginning with running 3 miles at a time for fitness to running ultra distances, “just for fun.” After retiring from teaching junior high school social studies, he has spent the last seven years fitting running shoes and offering free advice on the fun of running. It's been mentioned that Sweatt doesn't look like a runner, at least not like the ones found on the cover of Runner’s World. Jim’s favorite run is the Hardrock 100 starting in Silverton, Colorado, even though he has 11 DNFs. His running philosophy is summed up best by a saying found in a Silverton shop window, “If it ain't fun, why do it?” Jim is here to help you get the proper fit and help you with the answers to your running or walking questions.

Michelle.

Michelle Rupp began her running career in 2005 when she was asked to run a leg of the Little Rock Marathon Relay. After those six miles, she was hooked. Michelle has run countless 5Ks, 10Ks, 8Ks, and half marathons. She's gone the 26.2 distance nearly 20 times and beyond with one ultra marathon. Michelle loves traveling the country to run and is a member of the Marathon Maniacs. Michelle joined the Rock City Running family in 2015 specializing in our social media engagement and website content. She's happy to fit you for shoes or pick out the best outfit and at checkout she'll remind you to "follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!"
